For appointments where close contact with a patient is needed we are requesting that you have a lateral flow test the day before your appointment.

You will then need to register your result here Record your lateral flow test result You can also report your test result by calling the phone number in your test kit’s instructions.
We ask that you provide us with a copy of your negative result when you arrive for your appointment.
You will be advised at the time of booking your appointment if it is necessary to provide this test.

You may experience a longer wait on the telephone when calling to speak to reception. This is due to the team also having to make a large number of outgoing calls to book patients for their Covid-19 Vaccinations and also due to an increase in calls to the surgery.

SECOND ASTRAZENECA VACCINES: If you received your first vaccine at Etchingham Village Hall and you haven’t received a call from us and you are due your 2nd vaccine, please contact us. Appointments will be at Etchingham Village Hall, Parsonage Croft, Etchingham TN19 7BY
All GP appointments are currently on the telephone or via Engage Consult – our Online Consultation system. You will be invited into the surgery for a face to face appointment if required. Please do not enter the building unless you have an appointment. Please wear a face mask when on site.
If you have a face to face appointment with one of our clinicians, please wait by the barrier, just inside the surgery, no more than 5 minutes before your appointment time. Please wait at the barrier, until you are advised to enter the surgery by a member of the Reception team.
You can collect your medication from the Dispensary window outside. Current opening times for Dispensary are : 9:00am – 12:00pm and 2:00pm – 6:00pm.
Please order your repeat medications online or put your repeat slip in our external post box outside the main front doors.
The Rye Medical Centre is a five doctor general practice partnership located in Playden, Rye. We are also a training practice for GP registrars and medical students.
IF THE SITUATION IS AN EMERGENCY OR LIFE THREATENING, DIAL 999 AND ASK FOR AN AMBULANCE
If you urgently need to see a doctor and all the surgeries are full you will always be fitted in on the same day. This might not be with your usual GP and you may be asked to sit and wait to be slotted in.
Out of Hours Appointments
An out of hours service is run by the Hastings & Rother CCG. This service is provided by NHS 111. This service operates during weekday evenings and nights from 6.30pm to 8am as well as all day on Saturdays and Sundays. It must be stressed that out of hours calls should be for urgent medical problems or advice only. An operator will take your details and arrange the right access to services for you.
Along with our colleagues in Hastings and Rother we are providing an Extended Access service for those patients who work or find it difficult to get to the surgery during working hours.
You must book these appointments in advance and they are subject to availability. Appointments are available Monday to Friday evenings 6:30 – 8:00pm; Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Please note that these appointments may not be at this surgery and could be a telephone consultation. If you need to be seen during these times please contact our reception team to check availability. You will be asked to give your consent for the GP at that surgery access to your medical record.
